The Cleveland Indians dropped the American League Wild Card game on Wednesday night to the Tampa Bay Rays, but unfortunately no one is talking about how impressive the visiting team looked in victory on the morning after.
Thanks to a few bone-headed fans, the topic of discussion is some racism that was allowed inside of the stadium when three fans decided to wear “red face” during the game.
Even worse, TBS continued to cut to the fans and security guards allowed them to enter Progressive Field sporting the inexcusable look.
If you didn’t catch the fans during the broadcast, here is a look at their best impersonation of Chief Wahoo:
It’s unfortunate that the fans made the decision to wear the face paint and it is even worse that they were allowed to enter the game, but, as always, there will always be some fans that go a little too far when they are trying to express their fandom.
It is very possible that the fans had no malicious intent when they painted their faces for the game, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is both inexcusable and wrong.
