How many of you remember the television show, My Name is Earl? It stared Jason Lee, who played Earl Hickey, a character who was deemed to resolve his life mistakes all in the name of karma.

I guess if they ever wanted to bring it back to network, New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith could be a candidate for the lead role.

The volume shooting guard has recently been dealing with a handful of issues, which include off-court legal incidents and injuries. Despite that, Smith was able to secure a new contract from the New York Knicks this offseason, though recently suggested that the elbow he delivered to then Boston Celtics guard Jason Terry in the 2013 playoffs has been the focal point to his recent run of bad luck, suggesting karma is working its ways:

“I think [the elbow against Boston] probably [ticked] the NBA gods off,” he said Wednesday. “When you mess with the game of basketball, the game gets you back. And it definitely got me back.”

Everybody knows you don’t piss off karma, J.R.
