According to a press release Thursday, Sean Mannion, quarterback on the Oregon State football team, has been selected as the Manning Award Player of the Week for his performance in the Beaver’s 44-17 win against visiting Colorado last Saturday.
Mannion was 27 of 52 for 414 yards, six touchdowns and one interception against CU. It was the junior’s third 400-yard game of the season.
The Pleasanton, Calif. Native has completed 160 of 238 passing attempts for 2,018 yards, 21 touchdowns and two interceptions in five games this season.
Oregon State (4-1, 2-0 Pac-12) visits Washington State at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Martin Stadium in Pullman. The game will be televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
The Manning Award is awarded to the nation’s best quarterback by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel won the award in 2012.
