The Cleveland Browns suffered a big loss at the quarterback position on Thursday night when starting signal-caller Brian Hoyer went down with a torn ACL in his right knee, so they are wasting no time in looking at veteran options to bolster their depth at the position.
According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, the Browns have reached out to Tyler Thigpen and are expected to meet with him later today:
Name I’ll keep raising: Tyler Thigpen could be an option as #Browns seek veteran QB help. Told they’re expected to meet late into night.

This is not the first team that has been interested in Thigpen over the past few months. Earlier in the offseason, he was receiving interest from the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins.
Thigpen would challenge Jason Campbell for the back up job if he agreed to terms with the team.
An added bonus of signing Thigpen would be his previous starting experience. He has previously been under contract with the Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.
