Deron Williams of the Brooklyn Nets will likely miss the first two preseason games for the team. He told reporters that he will miss Tuesday’s game against the Wizards, and is unlikely to play net Saturday against the 76ers.

Williams is still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered while working out in Utah. To be more specific, Williams had a sprain and bone bruise of his right ankle.

There is no reason to believe that Deron Williams won’t be suited up and ready to start in Brooklyn’s first game of the regular season. With the news today about Jason Kidd’s 2-game suspension, he’ll be playing under someone else for the beginning of the season.

Williams’ teammate, Jason Terry is also suffering from an injury, this time it’s his left knee. In an article on ESPN, he says he’s a week away from resuming contact drills. Terry can’t wait to get back, and according to the organization’s official twitter page he said,

"I want to get out there, hit a three, fly around, talk [smack]."

The Brooklyn Nets have brought a lot of new pieces to the team, and there are high expectations for them, even when we are still waiting for the preseason to start. Only time will tell how these players come back from their injuries as the season progresses.
