Louisville’s Kevin Ware is fully healthy; cleared to resume practice

Louisville Cardinals guard Kevin Ware suffered one of the most gruesome injuries we have ever seen during the 2013 NCAA tournament when he came down on his right leg and had his bone shoot through the skin, but he is already cleared to return to the court.

There were initially some serious concerns about the future of Ware’s playing career, but he put in the hard work during rehab to prepare himself for the next season and he is already fully healthy.

Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino addressed Ware’s health and passed along the positive news.

“He started working out yesterday,” Pitino said. “I would say he will be able to play all out basketball by the end of October.”

This is great news for both Pitino and the Cardinals as they get ready to go on their national title defense. With a healthy Ware and fully loaded team, the Cardinals could once again be one of the top threats to make a title run in the nation.
