NLDS Game 2 lineup: Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals

For the St. Louis Cardinals, Game 1 of their NLDS couldn’t have went better. For the Pittsburgh Pirates, it couldn’t have went worse.

Now both teams will do their best to bring home a victory in the pivotal Game 2, which could swing the momentum in the series one way or the other.

For Pittsburgh, a victory sends them home with a split and home field in the short five game set. For St. Louis, a victory puts them a single win away from the National League Championship and presses the back of Pittsburgh against the wall.

The lone change in the Pirates lineup will be at shortstop where Jordy Mercer gets the starting nod over Clint Barmes, who started Game 1. The Cardinals will trot out the exact same lineup that got them a win in Game 1.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

4. Justin Morneau (L) 1B
5. Marlon Byrd (R) RF
6. Pedro Alvarez (L) 3B
