Alabama was beating Georgia State 14-0 with a little over three minutes let in the first quarter. After scoring, they kicked off and Georgia State’s Kelton Hill fumbled the ball and it was recovered by Alabama.
On the next play, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron threw this pass to fairly well covered wide receiver, DeAndrew White. He had no business catching this ball, but some how in the air, he reached around the defender and caught the pass with one hand scoring a touchdown in the process.
It could easily be a candidate for the best touchdown of the season, or best one-handed catch. Toledo wide receiver Alonzo Russell made an equally impressive one-handed catch earlier in the college football season. This one surpasses it in my opinion. He reaches around a player. He is in the air and has to readjust because the ball isn’t where he thinks it was expecting it to be. White is along the side line and has to stay in bound with a defender in his face.
It is an impressive catch, of course it comes against Georgia State, not the strongest of opponents.
That touchdown gave Alabama a first quarter 21-0 lead.
