There was plenty of drama surrounding former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman over the past few weeks, but he was finally put out of his misery and released from the team earlier in the week. With plenty of quarterback questions around the league, it was believed that Freeman could quickly be scooped up. However, he has received no interest since being released from the team which comes as a bit of a surprise.

A few teams have been linked to Freeman’s services based on pure speculation, but no one has specifically expressed interest in the former first round pick.

It is possible that all of the baggage surrounding Freeman could scare off some teams, but you would have to believe there are a few franchises that could benefit from adding him to the roster.

From the Jacksonville Jaguars to Minnesota Vikings to Buffalo Bills, who are expected to be without E.J. Manuel for up to six weeks, there are a handful of teams around the league that have poor quarterback play holding back their teams.

Of course, we could see some action on the Freeman front after this week’s games are completed, but nothing appears imminent.
