ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan defensive tackle Ondre Pipkins left the No. 19 Wolverines’ 42-13 win against visiting Minnesota with an apparent left leg injury.
Fans harping to find out about the sophomore’s injury will have to wait until Sunday night to learn the full extent of his injury.
When asked about Pipkins’ injury after the game, Michigan coach Brady Hoke didn’t have much to add.
“We’ll know more tomorrow,” Hoke said. “That’s about all I know right now. I haven’t had a chance to talk to (athletic trainer) Paul (Schmidt).”
Hoke will likely share the severity of Pipkins’ injury with the media Sunday. However, his status for Michigan’s next game may not be known until later in the week.
Pipkins, the Kansas City, Mo. native, has recorded five tackles in five games this season.
Offensive lineman Kyle Kalis also suffered an injury, but he later returned to finish the game.
Michigan (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) visits Penn State at 5 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Stadium in University Park. The game will be televised on ESPN.
