Minnesota quarterback Mitch Leidner keeps Gophers in game vs. Michigan

ANN ARBOR – Mitch Leidner’s effort in the first half was enough to keep Minnesota in the game against host Michigan.

Michigan leads Minnesota 14-7 to start the second half.

Late in the first quarter, Leidner led the Golden Gophers down the field on a 16-play, 75-yard drive that ended in a Maxx Williams 7-yard touchdown catch.

Leidner was 5 of 6 for 30 yards and a score in the first half, and he rushed 10 times for 49 yards.

James Ross III led the Michigan defense with seven tackles, while Brennen Beyer and Desmond Morgan each added four tackles.

Although Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner had great numbers in the first half, the Wolverines offense struggled to put points on the board. Gardner finish the half 7 of 9 for 82 yards and a TD.
