After a big interception led to the Ohio State Buckeyes go-ahead touchdown run from running back Carlos Hyde, the Northwestern Wildcats needed to dig deep and answer in a big way. In just a few minutes, they were able to do just that with a short scoring drive that was set up by a huge play through the air.
Northwestern quarterback Trevor Siemian completed a 67-yard pass to wide receiver Rashad Lawrence that gave the Wildcats the ball inside of the ten yard line.
On the next play, running back Trevyon Green gave an impressive effort to find the endzone, but the score was called back because of a holding call and Northwestern would need to find another big play.
Luckily for the home crowd, they were able to do just that.
Siemian scrambled forward in the pocket and found a wide open Cameron Dickerson for the 12 yard touchdown. Dickerson beat Ohio State defensive back Doran Green, who had the big interception that led to the Buckeyes touchdown on the previous drive, for the big score.
Ohio State will get the ball back with just over nine minutes remaining as we are set up for a wild finish.
