Report: Texas to start Case McCoy at quarterback against Oklahoma next week

Although we’re right in the heart of today’s college football action, there has been some major news released regarding one of the bigger game’s on next week’s slate.

According to reports, Texas will announce that David Ash will miss next week’s Red River Rivalry showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners and backup Case McCoy will once again start in his place.

Even though McCoy led the ‘Horns to victory on Thursday night against a lesser Iowa State squad, McCoy did not play favorably by any stretch, which could prove highly unfortunate as he’ll get set to face off against a much better and aggressive Oklahoma defense.

As for Ash, his future is uncertain as well as he’s still apparently suffering some ill effects following a concussion.

It will be very interesting to see whether or not the embattled Mack Brown will toy with burning the redshirt of dynamic freshman Tyrone Swoopes if the OU defense should begin to give McCoy fits.
