Hopefully you took a gamble in your fantasy league today and started either the Indianapolis Colts or Seattle Seahawks defenses because they are putting up some points – both of the good and bad variety.
After the Seahawks blocked a Colts punt in the first quarter, the Colts returned the favor just a few minutes later by blocking a Seahawks field goal.
Seattle’s blocked punt bounced around until it was scooped up in the end zone by a member of the Seahawks’ special teams, though, according to the referees he didn’t secure control of it in time. The call on the field was a safety rather than a touchdown, a ruling that was confirmed after a replay review.
There was no need for a replay review when the Colts blocked the Seahawks’ field goal as Delano Howell returned the kick for a 61-yard touchdown, though nearly had the impressive play halted by Seattle’s punter who gave a worthy effort to chase Howell down.
Howell’s progress was impeded, though, not enough as a few quality blocks preserved the impressive return.
