Miley Cyrus on SNL: We Can Stop The Government (Video)

With Miley Cyrus taking on Saturday Night Live, we wondered if there would be any creative moments or if the show would focus solely on her twerking and love for sticking out her tongue. Thankfully, the creativity came through in a big way on Saturday night with a parody of Miley Cyrus’ hit song “We Can’t Stop.” SNL took on the government shutdown with their version of the song, “We Can Stop The Government,” as Taran Killam played the role of John Boehner and Miley Cyrus portrayed Michele Bachmann.

Man, was it a treat.

It was pretty hilarious to see their take on the song and jokes that were cracked and directed at the government.

You have to see it to fully appreciate the parody, so here is a clip:

Well done, SNL. Well done. The show could have gone in a really poor direction as they used Miley Cyrus in their skits, but this is one that they hit out of the park and really delivered with. In even better news, Miley Cyrus decided to go with “Wrecking Ball” for her performance rather than “We Can’t Stop,” so we got to see a modest performance. Let’s hope the show continues going down the right path.
