Another fantastic fight has been scheduled for UFC on FOX 9. It was announced today that former WEC lightweight champion, Jamie Varner is scheduled to fight Pat Healy.
Varner is coming off a close split decision loss to Gleison Tibau back at UFC 164. Varner is currently riding a career resurgence of sorts after knocking out Edson Barboza at UFC 146. After that fight Varner fought Joe Lauzon in one of the best fights of 2012, losing by triangle choke. Since then, he defeated Melvin Guillard by split decision and dropped his last fight against Tibau.
Pat Healy is coming off a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in which Nurmy absolutely dominated Pat in the grappling department. Before the loss, Pat submitted Jim Miller in his UFC return, but the win was overturned after Pat tested positive for Marijuana metabolites in his post-fight test.
This fight should be a great scrap with two opponents who always bring it. Both fighters will look to get back into the win column in Sacramento.
UFC on FOX 9 takes place on December 14th in Sacramento Cal.
