As Team USA revels in it’s 18.5/15.5 victory over Team International at the 2013 Presidents Cup, most people around golf are asking for some changes to the format that has rendered this event almost inconsequential. There are almost as many opinions on how to fix this event as there are people involved. With Team USA winning all but two matches in the Presidents Cup throughout it’s brief history, the PGA will have to find a solution to the problem if they ever want this event to reach the popularity that is enjoyed by the Ryder Cup. I know that I lost interest on Sunday afternoon, knowing there was no way that Team USA was going to lose going into the Sunday Singles. I began to search for a good Football game to watch.

Let’s tweak Presidents Cup format

ESPN.com’s Golf Writer, Farrell Evans has a good story in the aftermath of yet another win by the Americans at Muirfield Village. He explains in detail what could, and should be done to add some drama to this event that could be exciting with a few adjustments.

"Something has to change for there to be any interest when the matches go to South Korea in 2015. The PGA Tour, which launched the Presidents Cup in 1994 to give players outside of Great Britain, Ireland and continental Europe an opportunity to play in a match-play competition against the U.S., needs to do a major overhaul to save its baby from ruin."

U.S. holds off late challenge to win Presidents Cup

Team International made a valiant charge on Sunday afternoon at the Presidents Cup, but let’s face it, Richard Sterne was not going to beat Tiger Woods in the Sunday Singles, and Hideki Matsuyama was a deer in the headlights for Hunter Mahan.

"The International team captain watched as his squad posted win after win through the afternoon at Muirfield Village Golf Club until Tiger Woods finally ended their heroics, halving No. 18 for a 1 up win over Richard Sterne. That match gave the U.S. its eighth win in 10 tries. The U.S. team won 18 1/2-15 1/2 — just one more point than the minimum needed."

Dear Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson,
The Americans are being themselves in the Presidents Cup and it’s been good enough

"Greetings from Dublin, Ohio. Your 2014 Ryder Cup in Scotland might be over before this 2013 Presidents Cup concludes. Have you been watching this thing? It’s the Yule log burning on Channel 169. It’s a replay of “Groundhog Day.” It’s been endless. That all-day BBC Ryder Cup coverage over there has nothing on what Golf Channel and NBC have been doing here."

Europe triumph 15-13 in Seve Trophy

"Francesco Molinari repeated his Ryder Cup heroics as Europe ended their 13-year wait for the Seve Trophy by holding on to beat Great Britain and Ireland 15-13."
