Memphis Tigers land big commitment from K.J. Lawson

If there is one thing we know about Josh Pastner, it is that he does a swell job on the recruiting trail. That is why it comes as little to no surprise that — as first reported by Evan Daniels of Scout.com – he was able to land Memphis native, K.J. Lawson.

The repercussions of landing him, however, is more than just adding another talented player to the Memphis Tigers program.

Here is what you need to know. Lawson is really good at the game of basketball. In fact, most recruiting services have him ranked as a top-25 player for the 2015 recruiting class. This means he is a very good get by Pastner. Still, there is more to this story than a singular recruit.

Lawson has two brothers. Who, supposedly, are even better than him at hoops. The second eldest Lawson, Dedric Lawson, is ranked as high as fifth for the 2016 class. Then there is the youngest of the Lawson clan, Jonathan Lawson. This Lawson is reportedly 6’4″ and only in fifth grade. Let me repeat that one more time. Johnathan “Wonderboy” (because why not) Lawson is six-feet and four-inches tall and ONLY IN FIFTH GRADE.

Pastner is not only landing K.J. Lawson but possibly tapping into the entire Lawson family tree.
