SEC names LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger Offensive Player of the Week

The SEC named LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger its Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for his Week 6 performance in LSU’s 59-26 win at Mississippi State on Saturday.

Mettenberger was 25 of 29 for 340 yards and two touchdowns and helped the No. 10 Tigers gain 563 yards in total offense.

The senior has thrown for 1,738 yards and 15 touchdowns in six games this season. He is the fifth LSU player to be recognized by the conference as a player of the week this season.

LSU (5-1, 2-1 SEC West) hosts Florida at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Tiger Stadium. The game will be televised on CBS.
