While NBA players are more than happy to rise off their bench and cheer when a teammate throws down a nasty dunk, they obviously don’t do so when the opposition hammers a dunk home.
That doesn’t mean they won’t get a little freaked out though.
During last night’s preseason tilt between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers, Laker guard Darius Johnson-Odom blew by Ty Lawson and made his way into the paint where he slammed him a disgusting dunk over (well, close enough) a Denver big man.
It was certainly impressive as both the Lakers announcer and crowd were feeling it, though, I’m not exactly sure what Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried was doing post-dunk.
As Odom rocked the rim, if you focus in on Faried, who is on the Nuggets bench wearing a towel over his knees, you see the Manimal jerk back for some unknown reason. Maybe he wasn’t playing overly close attention and the crowd explosion freaked him out. Maybe he wanted to get up and cheer for Johnson-Odom. Either way, the end result was pretty hilarious.
