Florida Panthers goaltender Tim Thomas has left the Tuesday night’s game in the first period. His exit comes after allowing two goals within the fist eight minutes of play.
As of right now, there is no answer as to whether it is an injury that forced him to leave, or possibly an equipment malfunction. Jacob Markstrom is in the net for the Panthers in place of Thomas right now, while everyone awaits an answer.
If you remember to before last season, Tim Thomas decided to take one year off from the sport of Hockey to focus on his family more. During this past off season, Thomas came to the Panthers for a professional tryout, which eventually led into the two parties signing a one year deal.
Over his past three starts with the Florida Panthers, Thomas has given up nine goals, including seven during the 7-0 blowout against the St. Louis Blues, in which he was pulled.
In tonight’s game, Thomas has just three saves, while Markstrom already has two. No one knows if and when Thomas will return during this game, but with the way the Panthers have been playing, they are going to need more than just Thomas in net to get the win.
