Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez came back for a chance to chase a Super Bowl victory. After the Falcons made it all the way to the NFC Championship they seemed to have good odds. This season has gotten off to a disastrous start including a loss to the New York Jets to drop to 1-4.

That has some suspecting that the Falcons should trade Gonzalez to give him that opportunity. Gonzalez has said that he wants to finish his career up with the Atlanta Falcons.

The tweet in it’s entirety:

"I’ve seen a lot of tweets w rumors that Falcons should trade Tony Gonzalez, just got off the phone w him he absolutely does NOT want that. Wants to finish up in ATL"

There’d probably be a strong market for him. The New England Patriots would like to have a tight end as they await the return of Rob Gronkowski. Even when he returns they’d like two tight ends and used a two tight ends with Aaron Hernandez a lot.

Instead he’ll help the injury riddled Falcons try to turn their season around.
