2013 Golf: Paige Mackenzie On Special Friday Foursome Hangout Tonight

LPGA star Paige Mackenzie will be on a live Google + Hangout Wednesday night October 9, 2013 with The Friday Foursome crew. She will be talking about the Spirit International Golf Tournament that comes up later this month, and golf in general. The hangout starts at 9:30 on Google + in the Golf Community. Ricky Potts, Jason Boslow, Brian Cromlish and myself will be supplying questions for the interview. Paige appeared on the Morning Drive show all last week at The Golf Channel.

Paige Mackenzie is from Yakima, Washington and played her collegiate golf at the University of  Washington where she majored in business. After she graduated, she joined the LPGA Tour in 2008. During her collegiate career, she recorded 22 top 10 finishes which leaves her owning that Huskies record.

She was named as the 2005 Northwest Golf Association Women’s Player of the Year,  won the match-play and stroke play competitions of the 2005 Trans National Championship.

Paige was named the 2006 Pac 10 and NCAA West regional Champion, and finished her senior year as the number one ranked player in the nation by Golf Week Magazine.

The Spirit International golf tournament is played every other year, and provides a place for junior golfers from all corners of the world to compete. Paige Mackenkie placed second in 2005, and joins an alumni that includes the current number two player in the world, Stacy Lewis. PGA players like 2012 FedEx Cup Champion, Brandt Snedeker, 2013 Rookie of the Year, Jordan Spieth have all played in the Spirit.
