The series finale of Breaking Bad was met with positive response by many fans who watched the show. In fact, compared to the series finale of Dexter, the Breaking Bad finale was an overwhelming success.
However, not everyone was pleased.
Oliver Stone was one of those people that was not impressed (insert McKayla Maroney Internet meme) by the finale and he voiced his displeasure with the show during an interview with Forbes while on a press tour for his new documentary series.
Stone pointedly critiqued Walter White’s method of handling the gang that kidnapped Jesse. “Nobody could park his car right then and there and could have a machine gun that could go off perfectly and kill all of the bad guys! It would be a joke,” he insisted. “It’s only in the movies that you find this kind of fantasy violence. And that’s infected the American culture; you young people believe all of this shit! Batman and Superman, you’ve lost your minds, and you don ‘t even know it! At least respect violence. I’m not saying don’t show violence, but show it with authenticity.
Sure, the machine gun in the trunk was a bit ridiculous, but it was fan-freakin’-tastic.
No matter what Stone says, the finale was as perfect as it could be and you won’t here any of the fans complaining.
