Houston Texans say Matt Schaub will start Week 6 against St. Louis Rams
By Bryan Rose
Sorry Texans fans – if you were hoping for a quarterback change come Week 6, you’ll need to hold out hope for the future as head coach Gary Kubiak said Schaub will get the start against the St. Louis Rams this Sunday.
Per Tania Ganguli:
"Here he is. Matt Schaub will start Sunday’s game. Kubiak says it was a “tough decision, real tough.” #Texans"
The fact that Kubiak mentions it was a ‘tough decision’ certainly doesn’t bode well for Schuab, who broke an NFL record against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night by throwing a pick-six interception for a fourth straight game.
Of course, it’s not as if the Texans had a whole lot of options to choose from in terms of replacing Schaub. The most likely candidate would have been T.J. Yates who leaves a lot to be desired and has yet to show much in the time he has seen on the field, despite it being limited.
Thankfully for Schaub and Houston, they should rebound against the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend, though, if they continue to struggle Kubiak may be forced to make a move come Week 7.
