While the University of Oregon might be the innovator in terms of unique helmets and uniforms, it’ll be the Washington Huskies who have a bit of a different look this weekend when the two teams square off.

According to Mason Kelley, the Huskies will be wearing a new matte black helmet this Saturday:

In case you were curious, Washington will wear these helmets against Oregon on Saturday http://tmblr.co/ZkvnvqxCPVjb

The Huskies are currently riding a nine game losing streak to Oregon, so they’re hoping the new look will come with a victory included.

Personally, I like the lid. I’m not normally a huge fan of the matte look because they often come off a bit dull, but the bright purple and and yellow really bring out the logo which isn’t something you often see with the matte look.

I like them a lot better than the gold helmets we’ve seen in the past, so hopefully we see these being used on the field a bit more in the future.
