Chris Kaman says Clippers' owner Donald Sterling 'didn't want to pay a ton of money'

Chris Kaman played for the Clippers from 2003 until 2011. He was arguably their best player when they were absolutely horrible, and he even made the all-star team in 2010. So is he proud of his accomplishments? According to Mark Medina on Sulia, no:

“Yeah, but of a losing franchise so how good am I? At that point it’s all about trying to do the best I can with what I have. Donald Sterling didn’t want to pay a ton of money to get other players.”

He has a point. Sterling has been known as one of the worst owners in all of sports, and he has even heckled players during games. He has turned around his image since trading for Chris Paul, and bringing in Doc Rivers. We will see if he can keep up this new era of Clippers basketball. He is smart to step back and let Rivers make all the basketball decisions. As for Kaman, he is a funny guy who has always been honest. He is a skilled offensive center, who doesn’t rely on athleticism. He will get valuable minutes for the Lakers this season, and we will see f he can earn himself a contract after this season. Hey, he bought a cow recently, so he’s off to a good start.
