After starting off the season 0-2, the Cleveland Browns shocked the league by trading away running back Trent Richardson, arguably their best offensive player. Since then, they’ve gone on a 3-0 run behind the leadership of back up quarterback Brian Hoyer.
Hoyer went down in their last game against the Buffalo Bills and Brandon Weeden took over. Unfortunately, Hoyer is out for the remainder of the season and the Browns are going back to Weeden for good.
Can Weeden keep the momentum going, or will the Browns revert to their early season form? They have a top ten defense, and that will keep them in winable situations. Even though Browns have the 7th best pass defense according to ESPN, they’ll get another bonus because Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is sitting out the game.
Matthew Stafford will try to lead the Detroit Lions (3-2) against the Browns’ stingy defense. Doing that without your biggest offensive weapon will be tough.
“We have to have guys step up,” Stafford said, via ESPN. “I have to play better. As an offense, we know we have to play better.”
