His father’s fame aside, Cordell Broadus, son of world-famous rapper Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Broadus), has garnered some attention for himself with his play on the football field. According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Broadus is the no. 3 wide receiver recruit in the nation. He currently holds offers from some big name programs including USC, Arizona State, UCLA and Oregon–among others.

Well, now we can add another school to the list for the 6-2, 185-pound speedster who was reportedly clocked in at 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. And this school, while not on the west coast where he’s currently making his name and where his dad made his in the rap game, may be the most notable of all.

That is from the twitter account of Broadus’ high school coach, Ryan Maine. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have officially thrown their names into the race to land one of the most coveted–and famous–recruits in the nation.

Given his dad’s known loyalty to USC, it’ll be interesting to see how the younger Broadus handles this one.
