Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders has faced his share of both wide receivers and controversy. The only difference for “Prime Time” is that he can’t shut down controversy.
According to the Dallas Morning News, via Pro Football Talk, Sanders is being accused for assaulting a charter school employee.
According to the report, police are investigating claims from Kevin Jefferson, who works for the Prime Prep Academy, that Sanders assaulting him at the school.
Jefferson told the Dallas Morning News the following:
He walked back to the back of the classroom to where I was sitting in a desk. As he got closer to me, I stood up because he was kind of standing over me and he just kind of kept talking to me and at me and then he just grabbed me by my throat and kind of threw me to the ground. Some people had to get him off of me.
According to Jefferson, Sanders became “a little upset” and “a little emotion” during an argument between the two over Sanders’ concern that some of the student-athletes were struggling academically at the school.
“I’m going to pursue my options with my attorney,” Jefferson said, per Pro Football Talk. “I just think it’s unacceptable in a professional environment particularly at a school for that kind of behavior to go on.”
The Dallas police have yet to release any information.
