With Spring Training rolling around in just four short months, the Chicago Cubs will be opening up their brand new facility in Mesa, Arizona in December.

I actually drove by this place around July and the layout was massive. They had the chalk lines still drawn out on the field from Sveum’s infamous bunting tournament and the sprinklers were going crazy on every baseball diamond around the stadium.

The ball park hasn’t been named yet, but it will seat around 15 thousand people. I can’t wait for this place to open up in December, I’ll definitely be there when it opens up if the grand opening is allowed to be attended by the public. If it’s allowed, I’ll show up in nothing but Chicago Cubs gear.

Anyways, the season just ended and I already miss my Chicago Cubs baseball.  But the count down to 2014 has already began for us Cubs fans.

The stadium will somewhat resemble Wrigley Field, at least that’s what it looked like on the blue print board that sat outside the construction site.
