Players to Sit

Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders

If you picked up Terrelle Pryor, you’ve been very happy with how he’s performed so far this season. A capable thrower with fantastic running skills is perfect for fantasy football, and Pryor is the perfect example.

But this isn’t the week to use Pyror, as he takes on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs have yet to allow a 300 yard passing game this season, and they’ve allowed the fewest points while creating the most turnovers. Pryor may still find a way to earn some yards rushing the football, but with other great options at quarterback, he is too much of a risk. He’s not going to be able to throw the ball effectively, and there’s a real turnover risk for the Oakland QB this week.

Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans

Johnson and the Titans take on the Seahawks this week, which should be enough of a reason to scare you away.

But if you need another, consider just how poor his rushing performance was against Kansas City last week. 10 carries for 17 yards is downright dreadful, and his level of competition on defense will be just as good (if not better) when facing Seattle.

Johnson’s day was saved against Kansas City thanks to a long touchdown reception, but that’s certainly not something to expect on a regular basis from the Titan runner. Stay away from CJ this week.

Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals

Fitzgerald continues to battle injuries, but it’s his opponent on Sunday that makes him a “sit” in fantasy football this week.

Teams that don’t have Aaron Rodgers at quarterback have yet to throw a touchdown to a wide receiver against the 49ers. Considering the struggles of Carson Palmer in the first month of the 2013 season, it’s doubtful that he’ll be the one to buck that trend.

Fitzgerald isn’t 100%, but he’s battling to give his team a chance to succeed. Against San Francisco, that’s unfortunately a losing battle for the veteran receiver.

Every Buffalo Bill You Have On Your Roster

The Bills take on the Bengals this week, who have a decent defense which ranks in the top 10 in yards and points against. But the real reason you want to avoid any an all Bills this week is Thad Lewis.

That’s the starting quarterback for Buffalo in Week 6, replacing the injured EJ Manuel. Lewis has only started one game in his career, and it was a 24-10 loss to the Steelers in 2012 (as a member of the Cleveland Browns). He was signed from the practice squad to start the game, which should be your first sign that he was never really supposed to be in this situation.

C.J. Spiller has been hurt for most of the season, Fred Jackson isn’t dynamic enough to make up for a lackluster quarterback, and an injury and a death in the family have unfortunately not allowed Stevie Johnson the chance to work with his new quarterback. There’s just no good option here, so it’s a safe decision to remove any and all Buffalo Bills from your lineup and wait until we get an idea of how good Thad Lewis can be, and how healthy Spiller and Johnson are.
