Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant is on the road to recovery in regards to his ruptured Achilles injury, working at an obsessive pace to get back on the court. It might be too obsessive as Bryant recently tweeted out that he lost five pounds in one day.
Per Bryant’s Twitter:
Now, I’m no doctor (shame, I should have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night), but I can’t imagine that’s the most healthy thing to do.
Of course, Bryant likely didn’t lose it in the ‘traditional’ fashion, more likely losing a lot of water weight, say like Nascar and F1 drivers who have been known to lose upwards of 5 to 10 pounds after every race. Still, water weight or not, I don’t think there are many health minds out there who would advocate such an attempt.
Bryant’s return timetable is unknown, though, it’s clear he’s doing everything he can to return as quickly as possible.
I personally wouldn’t be shocked, despite everything suggesting otherwise, to see Bryant on the court opening night. Because that’s what Kobe does.
