NASCAR Charlotte 2013 qualifying results: Jeff Gordon wins pole

There are only a handful of races left in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and the action continues this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway with the Bank of America 500. After qualifying for the big race, Jeff Gordon came away with the fastest time and earned the pole.

Sprint Cup leader Matt Kenseth had a modest qualifying time and will begin in 20th place, while the man right behind him, Jimmie Johnson, gets the early advantage at the No. 4 spot.

Kenseth and Johnson appear to be locked in a two man race, so this weekend’s race could go a long way in determining who will take home the cup.
