Although the Oakland Athletics took a heartbreaking loss in Game 5 of their Divisional Series with the Detroit Tigers, that doesn’t change the fact that an A’s fan has one of the most creative custom jerseys we’ve seen in some time.
Spotted in the O.co Coliseum parking lot prior to the elimination game was a fan who was wearing a #5 jersey with the name reading ‘On It’.
At first glance, it seems a bit odd but if you’re a big fan of hip-hop, especially West Coast hip-hop, you’ll quickly realize where the fan was going with the custom jersey.
Per Ivan Calderon:
If you dont get this jersey you have no cool in you: pic.twitter.com/xgVWIrUx5i
Back in 1995, Oakland rap duo the Luniz released the single ‘I got 5 on it’ off their album Operation Stackola. And while I won’t point out what the song is referencing to given the mature nature, it quickly became one of the most popular rap songs in history thanks to it’s catchy lyrics and deep, hard hitting bass.
I’m not a huge fan of custom jerseys, but this one is pretty innovative.
