According to John Canzano of the Oregonian, star running back De’Anthony Thomas will indeed play for the Oregon Ducks on Saturday in their Pac-12 showdown against the Washington Huskies.
After battling an ankle sprain, which included missing last week’s blowout win over Colorado, Thomas shed the walking boot that he was wearing earlier this week, fueling speculation that he was ready to take the field against the Huskies, as we now know is the case.
This is great news for the Ducks as they may need all of their weapons in place to handle this resurgent Washington program they’re facing. This is the same Washington program that gave Oregon’s biggest conference foe, the Stanford Cardinal, all they could handle last weekend.
Thomas has six touchdowns on the ground this year on 42 carries. However, his impact in a game like this may be felt the most on special teams, as these matchups are generally the ones that require teams to be near flawless in every facet of the game.
