Portland center Robin Lopez is shopping around a television pilot

Portland Trail Blazers center Robin Lopez has written a television pilot for an animated “comedy-adventure” show and is currently trying to get it in the hands of a studio. Lopez, who hasn’t revealed much about the specifics of the show, says he wrote it with brothers Brook and Chris.

Perhaps he should make it a comedy-of-errors sorta things and address Portland’s injury problems.

Lopez told The Oregonian that he wants his show to appeal to kids and families, citing E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind as influences:

It’s kind of cliché at this point, but I’ve always been a fan of Spielberg and his early stuff. The feel of it, the look of it, just how he’s able to make movies that appeal to everybody and still have that childlike quality.

Lopez has always had a passion for art and was a huge fan of comic books when he was a kid. Along with the television show, he and Brook would like to publish their own comic book series some day.
