The news surrounding Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson continues to get worse and worse. The latest update indicates that the two-year-old son of the Vikings star is not expected to survive after a severe beating from 27-year-old Robert Joseph Patterson, who was dating the child’s mother.

The City Pages reports that the child is not expect to recover from the injuries and that he could be taken off of life support later tonight.

During this tough time, Peterson’s father, Nelson, asks that we all stay respectful and keep the family in your prayers.

“We are asking for prayers and for respect for our family as deal with this tragic situation,” Nelson Peterson told Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

This is an absolutely unthinkable tragedy and we continue to send our thoughts and well wishes to Peterson and his family during this unbelievably rough time.
