Stevan Ridley expected to play vs New Orleans Saints
By Jason Marcum
With reports out today that the New England Patriots may again be without All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski, their anemic offense is in desperate need of playmakers at seemingly every position outside of quarterback.
The team may be getting a nice boost with the return of running back Stevan Ridley, who was out for last week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, and the team believes he’ll play Sunday vs the New Orleans Saints:
"NFL Media’s Albert Breer said Friday on “Around the League Live” that running back Stevan Ridley and wide receiver Danny Amendola both are expected to suit upSunday against the New Orleans Saints. But it “doesn’t look like” tight end Rob Gronkowski will play because of his forearm injury, Breer reported."
Having a healthy Amendola will also be key in keeping pace with the high-scoring Saints offense.
