Do you want a piece of the field that was stepped on by Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel? Well now you can get that opportunity, well, it’ll have to wait until the end of the season.
Texas A&M is going to be selling pallets of grass from Kyle Field at the end of the season. For $400, you can buy a pallet of grass, and for $20 you can purchase a single square of grass.
Your puchase will come with a certificate of authenticity of course, signed by Leo Goertz, the fields manager.
The final home game for the Aggies is on November 9th, and when the clock hits 0:00, the grass will begin to be stripped and sold.
According to ESPN,
The Aggies will install a new natural grass surface, which is being grown off-site, in time for the start of the 2014 season. The rest of the Kyle Field redevelopment project, which will boost capacity to 102,500, will be complete by the start of the 2015 season.
It’s a smart fundraiser for the Aggies, as they will have no need for the grass once the renovations get underway. I’m sure here will be fans who will dish out big bucks to get some of this grass. Would you?
