The Cleveland Browns season turned around when third string quarterback Brian Hoyer stepped into the lineup. In his first two games as starter they won. His third start they won as well, but Hoyer left the game after just four passes with an ACL injury.

Hoyer is clearly out for the remainder of the season, but the Browns are hoping he is ready for training camp. The tear was a clean tear and there was no ligament or cartilage damage. That might be one good thing coming out of a serious injury.

“He did a great job stepping in, really showing what he can do with opportunity,” Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said of Hoyer. “He was huge for us. Obviously he’s disappointed. If you know him, how positive he is, he’s already thinking about when he’s going to be back.”
It will be interesting to see if he is considered the starter next season or if they have a quarterback competition.
