According to MLB Network correspondent Alanna Rizzo, Hanley Ramirez will be a game time decision for the Los Angeles Dodgers today in game two of the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals.

While the official lineup lists Ramirez as the three hitter and starting shortstop, the Dodgers’ star remains soar after receiving a pitch to the ribs in last night’s game.

Ramirez was nailed by Cardinals’ starter Joe Kelly in his first at bat last night.  He ended up going 0-2 with a run and three walks.  Maybe they should just have him stand there and take pitches for the purpose of getting base runners.

Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly described Ramirez as “a little sore” after taking batting practice today and his status as “iffy”, according to a report from NBC Sports.

If Ramirez is unable to go, Dee Gordon or Nick Punto would probably start in his place.  Gordon was controversially inserted by Mattingly in the 8th inning of last night’s ball game to pinch run for Adrian Gonzalez with the game tied 2-2.  Needless to say, Gordon didn’t score and Gonzalez was unavailable for the remainder of the evening.

Losing Ramirez will undoubtedly be a huge blow for the Dodgers, if this comes to fruition.
