Missouri upsetting Georgia at the half, score 28-10

The No. 25 Missouri Tigers (5-0) entered the game against the No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs (4-1) as 7 point underdogs. Not a huge spread, but no one really expected Missouri to march into Athens, Georgia and have their way with the squad.

Yet here we are at half-time, and that is what we’re seeing. At the half, Missouri is leading Georgia 28-10.

Georgia actually opened the scoring with a touchdown late in the first quarter. Aaron Murray threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Brendan Douglas. That capped a 12 play 86 yard drive.

When they scored there just under 4 minutes left in the first quarter. Missouri grove 79 yards down the field in less than three minutes to tie the game before the quarter ended. Missouri’s James Franklin scored on a 5 yard touchdown run.

Early in the second quarter Missouri scored again to take a 14-7 lead. Franklin threw a 16 yard pass to to L’Damian Washington. Georgia got a field goal on the next possession and it was all Missouri for the rest of the half.

Marcus Murphy scored on a 36 yard run to give Missouri a 21-10 lead. Then Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray was sacked and fumbled. Shane Ray picked up the fumble and returned it for a touchdown to give Missouri the 28-10 lead they took into the half.
