Texas defensive lineman returns interception for touchdown (GIF)

The Texas Longhorns have gotten off to a great start against the Oklahoma Sooners. They scored first, to go up 3-0. After Oklahoma tied it up, Texas fumbled.

At that point it looked like the Longhorns were going back to the form of the past couple of years. Instead, during the following possession for Oklahoma, quarterback Blake Bell threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown.

Defensive lineman Chris Whaley intercepted the pass after dropping back into coverage. He should some speed getting down the field. Oklahoma’s Bell was there at the five yard line along the sideline waiting for Whaley. But even Bell, who is a big guy, couldn’t bring him down. Whaley dragged Bell into the end zone to score the touchdown.

Texas looks to have the upper hand and has looked more dominant throughout the game so far. If they can keep it up they’ll end Oklahoma’s win streak in the series. It would be the first win in the Red River Rivalry game for the Texas seniors.
