Those looking for some goosebumps should check out this video of Texas A&M Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin giving the game ball to kicker Josh Lambo. Well, Ole Miss fans may not want to watch.
Lambo was previously a professional soccer goalie before becoming the kicker for the Aggies, and he was the hero — aside from Johnny Manziel, of course — of last night’s thrilling game between Texas A&M and Ole Miss. The Rebels matched the Aggies shot for shot, and both teams threw for over 300 yards. But Manziel led the Aggies down the field with the game tied at 38, and Lambo drilled the game-winner as time expired to give his team the 41-38 win.
What’s especially interesting to note in the above video is Sumlin’s reference to a rule change regarding the distribution of game balls. The practice was previously not allowed by the NCAA because the NCAA is, always and forever, an evil organization with questionable priorities. The idiotic rule banning the awarding of game balls was abolished earlier this year.
The No. 9 Aggies will take on the No. 24 Auburn Tigers next weekend.
