Clemson's Roderick McDowell inspires young boy with clubfoot

Those in search of a heartwarming story to end their day with should check out this piece from ESPN on Clemson Tigers running back Roderick McDowell. The article details the friendship McDowell has forged with a seven-year-old from Georgia named Logan Millsaps. Born with clubfoot, a congenital birth defect, Millsaps has undergone multiple corrective surgeries and has football aspirations. Clemson’s McDowell was also born with clubfoot, and he contacted Millsaps after the boy’s mother reached out upon learning of McDowell’s condition.

Said McDowell:

I told him I’m his brother and I told him no matter what you decide to do, you can go out and do it no matter what circumstances may come between you. You may think you’re different, but being different is good. You don’t have to be like everybody else.

We tip our hats to McDowell for his selflessness and kindness, and we wish the best of luck to Millsaps as he pursues his football dreams.
