Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis has heard all the criticism of his quarterback over the past month, and while Andy Dalton hasn’t played like a franchise QB for much of this year, Lewis sounded like he’s committed to Dalton leading this team for the long-term in his meeting with the media today:

"“As I told him, it’s his football team,” Lewis said on Monday. “And he’s doing well. He’s directing our football team. We’re in a good spot and we have to keep going.”"

Lewis took it a step further with his defense of Dalton in pointing out how he’s won more than former Bengals QB Carson Palmer:

"“I don’t know if his predecessor has won these kind of games week in and week out,” Lewis said. “That’s important all the time. The ultimate goal we all have is to win the football game.”"
