The No. 9 UCLA Bruins, undefeated so far in 2013, will have revenge on their minds when they go on the road to take on the No. 13 Stanford Cardinal this week. The Cardinal beat the Bruins 35-17 on November 24 of last year, and they then turned around and beat UCLA 27-24 in the Pac-12 Championship Game a week later.

While UCLA head coach Jim Mora likes to say that every game is a big game, even he didn’t deny that there’s a little extra excitement in the air with Stanford coming up:

In the locker room after the [Cal] game, there was a sense of what was coming. We try to take the approach that every game carries the same value. We’re all human. When you get a chance to go play Stanford, things ramp up (The Los Angeles Times).

Sophomore wide receiver Jordan Payton was a little more direct:

We have been waiting for this. Stanford, man, we lost to them twice in one year. We know that, we remember that. This is definitely a big game for us and we’re going back up there.

With a red-hot UCLA team and a Stanford squad sure to be angry after their upset loss to Utah, Saturday’s game should be an exciting one. You can catch it at 12:30 p.m. PT on either ABC or ESPN2.
