Soon to be free agent Carlos Beltran, despite being 36-years-old, should have no shortage of suitors come this Winter.

One such suitor could be the New York Yankees, a team which Beltran has shown interest in before.

The interest is reportedly mutual according to the New York Daily News:

"According to multiple sources, the Yankees could be in the market for an outfielder this winter as they look to add some pop to a lineup that finished next-to-last in the American League in home runs and 10th in runs scored."

Not only does Beltran fit the pop-less lineup, but it would also extend his career as Beltran could spend the final few seasons of his playing days in a designated hitter role.

There aren’t many warts in Beltran’s game, though his inability to stay healthy would be considered one. The threat of injury would be highly reduced in a DH role though, so it may be somewhat of a perfect match. Of course, the St. Louis Cardinals aren’t going to let Beltran walk without some type of fight, though whether or not they want to continue to pay him at such an elevated price is unknown.
