‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ First TV Spot Released

This week, the world got their first look at the first TV spot for the upcoming film ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’.

Based on the novel of the same name by author Suzanne Collins, Catching Fire is the sequel to 2012’s The Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, and her fellow tribute Peeta Mellark, played by Josh Hutcherson.

In Catching Fire, Katniss and Peeta return to their homes in District 12 after their victory in the Arena during last year’s Hunger Games. Now, they must say goodbye to their families once more as they embark on the obligatory “Victory Tour” that follows, leading to the announcement of the next Hunger Games.

However, this year’s Hunger Games are different. Being that it is the 75th running of the Hunger Games, it is time for the Quarter Quell. This means that the pool of tributes is to be reaped from the list of remaining victors. Unfortunately for Katniss and Peeta, their hopes of peaceful lives after their victories come to a screeching halt when they find themselves back in the arena fighting for their lives.

On the outside, a rebellion is rising. The people of the Districts of Panem have had enough of the Capitol’s punishment, and have decided to do something about it. However, waging a war on something much greater than yourself could mean dire consequences for the ones that you love.

Here is a look at the first television spot for the upcoming film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2013.
